Medak: Police have taken into preventive custody some 200 Telangana Rashtra Samithi leaders and cadres in view of the party giving a call to lay siege to the Collectorate.

The Tahsildar has said that prohibitory orders under section 144 Cr PC were being imposed in Sangareddy on Wednesday. It is also learnt that several TRS activists were taken into preventive custody on Tuesday evening.

Meanwhile, the TRS workers, under the leadership of the party’s Siddipet MLA, Mr Harish Rao, staged a rasta roko on the NH No. 9 in Patancheru town of the district.

The TRS said that though they have given information in advance that they would formally lay a siege to the district Collectorate as per the party’s call, the district Superintendent of Police refused permission. They said they would complain about the attitude of the SP to the Director General of Police.

Meanwhile, tension prevailed in the district as the police stopped TRS senior leader, Mr.Harish Rao, the former MLAs, Mr Padma Devender Reddy, Mr Raghunandan Rao and others at Patrancheru. Angered by the police action, they disrupted vehicular traffic on the National Highway. (NSS)
