Kadapa: The YSR Congress party leader, Mr Ambati Rambabu, today mounted a scathing attack on the Congress president, Ms Sonia Gandhi, and termed the Kadapa by-elections as a battle between Italian and Telugu cultures. He also said that the by-election was also a battle between the arrogance of Delhi and the courage of Kadapa.
Speaking to the media here, Mr Rambabu said he was feeling ashamed for having worked for long in a party headed by Mrs Sonia who dies not know anything about Indian culture and traditions.
Referring to the contention of some Congress leaders that there would be no loss to the party even if its candidate lost in the by-elections, Mr Rambabau questioned that if that was the case, where was need for the Chief Minister and 16 Ministers to campaign in Kadapa; and why they were spending huge amounts in the elections. The outcome of the by-elections would be the starting point for the impending political changes in the State, he said
He also criticized the Congress Government saying that it was watering down the programmes of late Dr Y S Rajasekhara Reddy. (NSS)
