Ban on Maoist bodies extended

Hyderabad: The State Government has extended ban on CPI (Maoist) and its six frontal organizations for a further period of one year.

According to a GO issued on Tuesday, under Andhra Pradesh Public Security Act, 1992, the government has earlier banned Communist Party of India (Maoist) and its frontal organizations All India Revolutionary Students Federation (AIRSF), Radical Students Union (RSU), Ryot Coolie Sangham, Radical Youth League (RYL), Viplava Karmika Samakhya (VIKASA) and Singareni Karmika Samakhya (SIKASA) declaring them as Unlawful Association. As the ban will complete on August 16, the government has issued orders extending the ban on the left wing extremist wings for a further period of one year with effect from August 17, 2011.
