Big maoist dump found in Vizianagaram

Vizianagaram: A major dump of the outlawed Maoists was found by the police in this district on Monday.

According to police, they found four land mines, two rifles, 40 self-loading rifle rounds and some revolutionary literature in the dump.

Police suspect that top Maoist activists RK, Chalapati, Suresh, Daya, Aruna, Ramesh, Bhavani, Jhansi and others have kept the weapons in the dump an year ago to target the police.

Stating this here on Monday, the SP, Mr Naveen Gulati, said that these Maoists belonged to the Andhra-Odisha Zonal Committee. He said that there was intense movement of Maoists on the Odisha side. He also said that the police intensified patrolling on the boarder. (NSS)
