Hyderabad, Feb.6: Expressing serious concern over the whimsical actions of the Specified Authority of the Tirumala Tirupathi Devasthanams, the  state BJP today demanded  the immediate abolition of the Authority.  The Party said that the actions and decision of the Specified Authority were  hurting the sentiments of Hindu community.

Speaking to the Media here today along with State BJP vice-President Mr S Malla Reddy,  former Union Minister and senior leader Mr Bandaru Dattatreya,  alleged that the Specified Authority was responsible for the demolition of the Thousand Pillar Mandapam earlier.

Mr Dattatreya  the decision to allow  the Darshan of Lord Venkateswara only once in a year to  family, and that too from the main gate, was atrocious.  In the garb of secularism,  the Specified Authority was acting in a manner to hurt the sentiments of Hindu community, he said that added that former Chief Minister Mr K Rosaiah had announced that the Specified Authority would be dispensed with within 100 days, but so far it has not been done.

He said that decisions relating to the TTD should be taken by Sadhus and Sants who have no political ambitions.

Referring to the proposed alliance of PRP with the Congress, Mr Dattatreya said that  earlier  Mr Chiranjeevi had strongly criticized the Congress, and now his decision to have tie-up with the same party was  a political blunder. (Agencies)
