Hyderabad: The Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) is organizing a big public meeting in Karimnagar on May 31, to further pressure the Union Government to introduce the separate Telangana Bill in the ensuing session of Parliament.
The leader of Opposition in the Lok Sabha Mrs Sushma Swaraj would address the meeting.
The State General Secretary of BJP Mr N Ramachander Rao says that the party considers the Telangana meeting as ‘very crucial’. He says that the party is expecting a large turn-out or the meeting given its credentials relating to the cause and the popularity of Mrs SushmaSwaraj amongst the people of the region. In addition to the anticipated huge turnout of the people, the meeting would be marked with a lot of festivity with the display of Telangana ethnic tradition, culture, folklore, etc.
It may be mentioned here that the BJP has been supporting the cause of separate Telangana state and is fully working in that direction. The proposed meeting at Karimnagar is going to be a show of strength of the party in Telangana region. The party has two Members in the Legislative Assembly and both of them are from the Telangana region. (NSS)
