A team of Central government officials on Thursday toured the fluoride affected parts of Nalgonda district.
Seven senior officials of Indian Institute of Public Administration,New Delhivisited the Samsthan Narayanpur and Marriguda mandals in the district. They also made a surprise visit to a school in Janagam village and examined the drinking water being supplied to the students. The Central officials perused the menu list of the school to know whether the school management was implementing the Mid-day meal scheme properly or not. They also collected the information regarding Central-sponsored medical tests being done on fluoride affected persons.
The team comprised IIPA Professor Sujata Singh, Brigadiers Ravi Prasad, Narayanan Banoth, Narendar Daban, Jacob Arora, Central Water Supply Scheme Joint Secretary Gupta, Executive Engineer Venkateshwarlu and others.
Speaking to mediapersons, Prof. Sujata Singh said that some 40 members of the IIPA split into five groups and examining the implementation of the Central-sponsored schemes in the district. She said that they were touring Nalgonda and Medak in Andhra Pradesh, Meghalaya, Haryana andMaharashtra. She said they would submit the reports to the Centre after completing the tour. (NSS)
