Hyderabad: The former chairman of APSRTC and Y S Jagan Mohan Reddy’s loyalist, Mr Gone Prakash Rao, here on Sunday charged the Congress government in the State with conspiring to suppress the former Kadapa MP and the Telangana Rashtra Samithi. However, Mr Jagan Mohan Reddy has popular support in all the three regions of the State, he added.
Speaking to mediapersons, Mr Prakash Rao demanded that the Congress-led UPA government at the Centre announce its clear stand on the demand for separate Telangana State. He also felt that the Chief Minister, Mr N Kiran Kumar Reddy, the Union minister, Mr S Jaipal Reddy and the senior Congress leader, Dr K Keshav Rao, have moral responsibility to make the Union government give a clear statement on the formation of Telangana State desired by over four crores of people in the region.
Stating that there was no difference between the ruling party and that of the Opposition, Mr Prakash Rao alleged that both were the one and the same. He also cautioned that President’s rule will be inevitable if the Centre failed to make a clear statement on the burning issue. (NSS)
