Kadapa: The Praja Rajyam party president, Mr K Chiranjeevi, who launched election campaigning in Kadapa on Friday, for the first time, made a blistering attack on the YSR Congress party chief, Mr Y S Jagan Mohan Reddy.
Addressing the people in the Kadapa Lok Sabha constituency, the former megastar dubbed Mr Jagan Mohan Reddy as the most corrupt and power monger. He claimed that Mr Jagan Mohan Reddy had approached him immediately after YSR’s death and urged him to help make him chief minister of the State. Mr Chiranjeevi alleged that Mr Jagan Mohan Reddy had sent some MLAs to him for support even before the last rites of late Dr YSR.
Describing the Kadapa by-election as a fight between admiration for Congress president, Ms Sonia Gandhi, and feudal attitude of Mr Jagan Mohan Reddy, Mr Chiranjeevi appealed to the voters to exercise their franchise in favour of the Congress party in order to demonstrate their love towards him.
Similarly, the Telugu Desam party president, Mr Nara Chandrababu Naidu, slammed the YSR Congress chief for amassing unaccountable wealth by corrupt activities. He also predicted that Mr Jagan Mohan Reddy would join hands with the Bharatiya Janata Party. He reiterated that the BJP has chosen not to enter the election fray in Kadapa as it had a secret understanding with the YSR Congress president. (NSS)
