Decks are cleared for Chiranjeevi’s entry into Dr.Manmohan Singh Cabinet as a minister of state with independent charge. According to highly placed sources in Congress, the party leadership has decided to induct Chiranjeevi into Central Cabinet along with Rashtriya Lokdal chief Ajit Singh who joined the ruling coalition on Monday.

The two leaders will be inducted into the Cabinet in the vacancies created by DMK ministers A.Raja and Dayanidhi Maran. Both of them quit their posts over Telecom scams. Since, DMK showed no interest in filling up these vacancies, Congress has decided to allot them to the new found allies.

The formal induction of Chiranjeevi and Ajit Singh into Central Cabinet might take place by this weekend, sources added. Chiranjeevi who merged his Prajarajyam party into Congress has recently saved the Congress government of N.Kiran Kumar Reddy, when it faces the trust vote in the Assembly.

Two Congress Rajya Sabha MPs from the state K.Kesava Rao and Dasari Narayana Rao are due to retire and elections for the both seats are due in April next year. Chiranjeevi, according to sources, will contest to one of the seats from the state.
