Hyderabad: Finding fault with the Congress party for not giving a chance to a single Telangana person to contest in the Legislative Council elections from the Assembly Constituency, the TRS has demanded the Telangana Congress MLAs to cast their vote according to their conscience in the elections to be held on March 17.
Speaking at the Assembly media point here on Tuesday along with the party MLA Mr K Vidyasagar Rao, the TRSLP leader Mr Etela Rajender said that it was unfortunate that the Congress party has done injustice to the Telangana Congress leaders as the region would get two seats according to MLAs number. He called upon the Telangana Congress leaders to cast their vote according to their conscience and exuded confidence that their candidate Mr Mohd Mahmud Ali would emerge as a winner, if they did so.
The President of the nation, speaker of the Parliament, Chairman of the UPA and the Home Minister of the State were women, he said and bemoaned that the governments’ were not stopping the attacks on women. He demanded the Centre and State to do justice to the women instead of conducting the ‘World Women’s Day’ as a festival.
Mr Rajender also demanded the State government to release 28 TMCFT of water to the Lower Maner Dam (LMD) through the SRSP canal immediately to save the crops under the LMD. He said that the government did nothing on it though it has given an assurance earlier. (NSS)
