Tirupati, Feb.5: The CPI State secretary, Dr K. Narayana, has said that his party would block all the highways on January 9, in protest against the failure of the government to solve problems of the handloom weavers.
Talking to mediapersons here on Saturday, the CPI leader said the government was neglecting the basic problems confronted by the people because of the political instability prevailing in the State. He said that his party would be launching a series of agitations on the people’s problems.
Reacting sharply to the proposed move of the Praja Rajyam party chief to merge his party in Congress, Dr Narayana said that he should first resign from his position as he had won the election decrying the Congress party’s policies and promising social justice to the people. He also said that it would be a mirage if Mr Chiranjeevi thought he could achieve social justice by joining hands with the Congress.
