Dadi Complains Against Delay In Submission Of Vuda Audit Report

Hyderabad: The TDP floor leader in the Council, Mr Dadi Veerabhadra Rao, has expressed resentment over submission of the audit report of the Visakhapatnam Urban Development Authority for the years 2003-04 and 2004-05 to the Council now.

Speaking in the Council on Saturday, Mr Veerabhadra Rao asked, “What we have to do with reports submitted to us after 10 years? Are we here to conduct post mortem on them? The member also complained that though it was stated that reasons for the delay were given in the report, no such reasons were found.

The TDP leader asked the Municipal Administration Minister, Mr Maheedhar Reddy, who was in the House, to ensure that reports submitted to the House were upto date.

The minister said that audit reports have been pending since 1985-86 and efforts were on to clear the backlog. He said the government proposed to clear the backlog within n year.

Another TDP member, Mr Rajendra Prasad, has complained that though Telugu was declared the official language, all the reports were in English. He said that even the circulars of the Legislature Secretariat were being issued in English. He wanted all the circulars and reports be translated to Telugu. (NSS)
