Devotees Start Pouring Into Srisailam For Ugadi Festival

Srisailam: Thousands of devotees are pouring into Srisailam from not only Andhra Pradesh, but also from the neighboring Karnataka state, to have a darshan of Lord Mallikarjuna Swamy and to be part of the Ugadi Festival here.

Temple authorities have said that already 2 lakh devotees have reached Srisailam. Several are taking the arduous journey by foot through the Nallamala forests, daring the hot sun, to reach the Sri Giri.

Temple authorities have said they made all the arrangements to ensure that the devotees faced no problem during the festival.

Temple Trust Board has met on Thursday under the chairmanship of the Executive Officer Immadisetti Koteswara Rao to review the arrangements for the festival. The Board has adopted the Rs. 100-crore budget of the temple for the year 2011-12. (NSS)
