Hyderabad: Alleging that the BJP has hatched a conspiracy through the Karnataka BJP leader, Mr Gali Janardhan Reddy, the PCC Chief, Mr D Srinivas has said that the YSR Congress Party Chief, Mr Y S Jagan Mohan Reddy was stating that the Kadapa by-election was between the AICC Chief, Ms Sonia Gandhi and late Dr YSR.
Speaking to the media at Gandhi Bhavan here on Tuesday, Mr Srinivas said that as the BJP remained very weak in the State, it was trying to get a hold through Mr Jagan and Mr Gali Janardhan Reddy had drawn this design. He said that these indications were emanating from Mr Jagan’s criticism against Ms Sonia Gandhi. He said that the BJP was trying to improve its hold by bringing Mr Jagan in the forefront. It was yet be known whether Mr Jagan would enter into an alliance with the BJP or join it, he said, adding that there was a hidden agenda behind the Kadapa by-elections. Mr Srinivas said that Mr Jagan would vote only for the BJP. He said that if it was not a conspiracy, Mr Jagan would have straightaway joined the BJP.
Ruling out the Third Front’s role, Mr Srinivas said that it has no strength and as the TDP Chief, Mr N Chandrababu Naidu was in the Third Front, Mr Jagan would not join it.
Responding to the Congress MLAs campaigning for Mr Jagan, Mr Srinivas said that the Congress Legislature Party (CLP) has to move first and later PCC enters the scene. He said that he didn’t receive any complaint from Kadapa DCC president against the Congress MLAs who were participating in the campaigning openly in favor of Mr Jagan. He said that the party would initiate action against the erring MLAs but the election was a big ‘conspiracy’. He said that the party could not initiate action. The Deputy Speaker has to initiate the action against them. Mr Srinivas said that the MLAs who were campaigning in favor of Mr Jagan were no more Congress MLAs.
Responding on the party campaigning in Kadapa by-elections, Mr Srinivas said that the result depends on local campaigning. He said that it was obvious that the Congress party talks on Mr Jagan’s affidavit and Mr Jagan has to give clarification on his affidavit because every one was having doubts on the huge earnings within two years. He also said that it was not correct to say that the Congress Party filed many nominations in the same name of Mr Jagan because the election would be held on symbol and not on candidate’s name.
Finding fault with the criticism of the TDP senior leader, Mr Dadi Veerabhadra Rao, against the AICC general secretary, Mr Rahul Gandhi, for addressing a reply to Mr Justice Krishna Ayyar, Mr Srinivas said that as a sober man it was not proper to Mr Veerabhadra Rao to criticize Mr Rahul Gandhi.
