Hyderabad: In order to plug the loopholes in the system, all eligible weaker section students claiming fee reimbursement and post-matric scholarships will be issued E-pass cards to ensure only eligible candidates received the scholarships etc from the next academic year.
The issue of E-cards will be through a ‘Mela’ in all districts under the aegis of the public representatives and sarpanches.
The idea has been mooted to halt misuse of the facility in the colleges by the respective managements.
The state government has decided to effect online registration of all educational institutions, private and government, including engineering and medical, and admissions to control fake claims etc by October 2011.
The online system facilitates a fool proof record of the actual strength of the students on rolls along with their identity. It enables the government to identify the students and their strength for sanctioning the fee reimbursements etc without any hitch and intervention of the managements.
A Special Task Force Committee will inspect the engineering and medical colleges and submit a report in a week to Chief Minister N Kiran Kumar Reddy. This is to facilitate submission of genuine caste certificates, improvement of quality of infrastructure and education etc by 2012.
The above decisions were taken at the Secretariat at a review meeting chaired by the Chief Minister and attended by the Ministers of the Sub-Committee, Social Welfare Minister Pithani Satyanarayana, Finance Minister Anam Ramnarayana Reddy, Minority Welfare Minister Syed Mohammed Ahmadullah, Tribal Welfare Minister Pasupuleti Balaraju and Revenue Minister N Raghuveera Reddy.
As part of the improvement programme, the Chief Minister has also sanctioned Rs 20 crore for developing the infrastructure and other facilities in the Social Welfare hostels to strengthen the system, Social Welfare Minister P Satyanarayana told the media persons.(INN)
