Entire Village Donates Eyes To NTR Eye Bank

Hyderabad, February 4: Hyderabad, February 4: The TDP president, Mr N. Chandrababu Naidu, has said that every village should follow Kammeta under Chevella mandal of Ranga Reddy district and get involved in service activities.
Mr Naidu was addressing the people of the village, who have, under the leadership of MLA, Mr Ratnam, and the MLC, Mr Narender Reddy, responded to the call of the NTR Memorial Trust and gave consent letters to donate their eyes to the NTR Eye Bank. All the 550 people of the village signed their agreement papers and handed them over to Mr Naidu on Thursday.

Speaking on the occasion, Mr Naidu said the NTR Memorial Trust was providing education from fifth class to several children orphaned by accidents, political murders and natural calamities. He said the Trust would help them until they settle down in their lives. He also said that the Trust was also helping thousand poor children in rural and urban areas through different educational institutions.
Stating that the NTR Trust has started blood donation program by starting NTR Blood Bank, he said it now became the number one NGO providing world class blood to the needy. He said soon Blood Banks would be set up in Visakhapatnam and Warangal in addition to Hyderabad and Guntur where Blood Banks were already functioning.

Mr Naidu said that the Trust also started an initiative to provide clean drinking water to the people through the NTR Sujala programme. He appreciated the gesture of the 550 people of the village who came forward to donate their eyes. He called upon the people to emulate these villagers and work towards helping others.
Mr Naidu has specially congratulated the Telugu Yuvata Mandal General Secretary Sri Sailam and Sarpanch Ramachandraiah. The TDP State General Secretary, Mr Ananta Reddy, Sarpanches Association state president Mr. Satyanarayana Reddy, NTR Memorial Trust CEO Mr. Metavarti Venkat and Trust adviser Mr. B V Choudary have also participated in the programme.
