The Haj pilgrims of Andhra Pradesh have started coming back after performing the Haj 2012 successfully. The first batch consisting of 300 Haj pilgrims, which returned back to Hyderabad at 11:05 PM one hour earlier than the scheduled arrival time, was received warmly by Janab Mohammed Ahmadullah Minister for Minorities Welfare, Wakf and Urdu Academy at the Rajiv Gandhi International Airport Shamsabad Hyderabad.
Chairman of the AP State Haj Committee Janab Syed Khaleeluddin Ahmed, Executive Officer Janab Abdul Hameed, Members Janab Syed Raza Hussain Azad, Janab Mahmood Hussain, Janab Mohammed Baig, Janab Shaik Shareef, AEO Janab Irfan Shareef and other officials of the AP State Haj Committee were present on this occasion. A large number of relatives and friends of the pilgrims had gathered at the Haj Terminal braving chill weather to receive their dear ones.
The Hajis expressed satisfaction over the arrangements both in India and in Kingdom of Saudi Arabia for the performance of the Haj conveniently and comfortably. They thanked the Minister, the Chairman, the members and officials of the Haj Committee for their smooth journey.
The Minister while welcoming the Hajis congratulated them on their successfully performing the Haj and ask them to upkeep the spirit of the Haj throughout their lives.
The first batch consisted of 153 Males and 147 Females, 291 of whom were accommodated in Green Category while the rest 9 were accommodated in Azeezia Category. The batch included one Khadim ul Hujjaj.
Janab Ahmadullah informed that altogether 7998 pilgrims including 776 from neighbouring districts of Karnataka left from Hyderabad Embarkation Point by 26 chartered flights. Among the pilgrims 4145 are male and 3822 females and 12 infants. Six pilgrims passed away in KSA during the Haj season.
He further said that as many as 3755 pilgrims had opted for Green category and 3697 pilgrims the Azeezia category, while 515 pilgrims were accommodated in Hyderabad Rubat.
As a result of successful efforts of Janab Abdul Mohsin Al Umair Station Manager India and Janb Adil Khan Haj Coordinator India the Saudi Airlines initially brought 1600 cans of Zam Zam water for distribution among the Haj pilgrims on their arrival at the Haj Terminal.
Sri yashpal Shah GM Terminal, Sri Ishaq Shareef, deputy commandant CISF, Sri Venkata Subbiah Sr. Superintendent Customs, Sri Sajid Ghouri PRO customs, Sri Preetam Singh AGM Haj Terminal, Sri Satish (Menzes), Sri Mohammed Iftekhar, Sri Prem Kumar and Sri Mushtaq of Saudi Arabian Airlines were present on this occasion.
Two more flights carrying 598 Haj pilgrims are scheduled to return at 8:25 AM and 11:55 PM on 17-11-2012.
