Kadapa, April 17 : There are five Jagan Mohan Reddys and three Vijaya Lakshmis in the election fray in Kadapa and Pulivendula constituencies where by-elections are due on May 8.

Leaders of the YSR Congress Party have said that unable to face the YSR Congress chief, Mr Y S Jagan Mohan Reddy in Kadapa Lok Sabha constituency and his mother, Ms Vijaya Lakshmi in Pulivendula, have got their name-sakes file nominations with a view to confuse the voters and thereby at least reduce their majorities. They said that while the Congress got five Jagans file their nominations, it got three Vijaya Lakshmis — O Vijaya Lakshmi, P G Vijaya Lakshmi and S Vijaya Lakshmi file their nominations.

The YSR Congress leader, Mr Ambati Rambabu, while alleging that this was the handiwork of the Congress, said the people were not innocent and would surely understand the mean tactics of the Congress leaders. He said that the people would only vote for Y S Jagan Mohan Reddy and Vijayamma and not the dummies, he stated in a press release. (NSS)
