Hyderabad: Girls outperformed boys in the SSC Advanced Supplementary Examinations held in June 2011, the results of which were declared on Sunday.
The girls registered a pass percentage of 45.31 and boys with 41.43 per cent, 3.88 per cent more than boys.
Mahabubnagar district topped with 66.47 per cent students clearing the Supplementary Examinations followed by Chittoor with 61.53 per cent, Nalgonda 58.08 per cent, Warangal 57.13 per cent and Nellore 56.34 per cent. Srikakulam district occupied last slot with 24.99 per cent.
Releasing the supplementary results at the Office of Director, Government Examinations, Secondary School Education Minister K Parthasarathy said that 3,34,030 candidates had registered for the examinations out of this 3,34,030, as many as 2,42,379 candidates appeared for the examinations. With a pass percentage of 42.91, 1,04,000 candidates passed the examination.
He said that compared to June 2010 examinations there was an rise of 2.48 per cent students clearing the June 2011 examinations.
Mr Parthasarathy also added that memorandum of marks would be sent to candidates within 10 days.
He said the candidates who want to get their marks recounted should remit Rs 500 per subject within 10 days from the date of publication of results, adding that the filled in applications for recounting and re-verification would be received from July 26 to August 4.
The fee for issue of photocopy of valued answer book per subject is Rs 1000.(INN)
