Hyderabad: The Telangana JAC convener, Prof. M. Kodandaram, has alleged that the State government was solely responsible for the incidents that occurred on the Tank Bund during the Million March on Friday.

Talking to the media here on Saturday, he said that he had assured the Chief Minister that if the government gave permission for the rally, he would take the responsibility for running it peacefully. As the government had not given the permission, the situation went out of every one’s hands.

Alleging that the government has tried to mar the rally by registering bind over cases against Telangana activists which he said were usually registered against hardened criminals. He also congratulated the people “who had attended the March despite government’s restrictions and repression”. He also alleged that cases were registered against activists even during their return journey. He has announced that the JAC would organize protests on March 14 at different places of Telangana for the repressive acts of the government against agitators of Telangana.

Replying to a question, he said that in his view, the Assembly has died as none of the TRS members were attending it. He said that last rites for the House would be performed by the JAC soon. (NSS)
