Tirupati: There was a heavy rush in the temple town on Sunday and Monday morning. Pilgrims who came in large numbers here had to suffer as both the railway and RTC authorities failed to provide enough transport facilities. Pilgrims were found stranded both at the Railway station and the bus terminal on Monday morning.
Students started pouring in as intermediate examinations were completed. Though pilgrims are waiting in large numbers in the railway station itself, railway authorities have failed in running special trains.
There are four express trains between Tirupati and Hyderabad. If railway authorities had arranged additional coaches to these trains, they could have at least accommodated some more passengers. They have not even done that. Though RTC authorities ran some additional buses, they proved to be insufficient. (NSS)
