Hyderabad: Telugu Desam Party general secretary M Aravind Kumar Goud on Sunday alleged that YSR Congress Party president Jaganmohan Reddy had marginalised the backward classes ‘completely’ during his party’s maiden two-day plenary session at Idupulapaya in Kadapa district.
“Bent upon coming to power at any cost, Mr Jaganmohan Reddy gave ‘top’ priority to upper castes during the plenary,” Mr Aravind Kumar Goud told media persons at the NTR Trust Bhavan, adding that the Backward Classes were completely ignored.
“The plenary looked like a `Patel and Patwari’ convention. Those sitting on the dais looked like landlords and the delegates gave the appearance of ‘pallegallu’ (domestic workers),” the TDP leader said.
“By deliberately ignoring the Backward Classes leaders, Mr Jaganmohan Reddy has amply demonstrated his leanings towards the upper caste leaders,” he alleged.
Mr Aravind Kumar Goud further alleged that the YSR Congress Party chief had organised the plenary with an intention to come to power and eyeing the Chief Minister’s post.
The people of the state are observing Mr Jaganmohan Reddy’s political tricks and they would teach him a fitting lesson for marginalising Backward Class leaders, the TDP leader said.
He reiterated that the Telugu Desam Party was only party which gave top priority for SC/STs and Backward Communities. (INN)
