Hyderabad: Describing Mr Jagan as a Congress bird, Mr Yerrannaidu has predicted that the former would return to the ruling party’s nest ultimately. He reminded that several leaders, who came out of the Congress in the past, had either merged their parties in the Congress or joined its alliance. Mentioning the names of Mr P Chidambaram, Mr Sharad Pawar, Ms Mamata Benerjee, late Kasu Brahmananda Reddi, late Marri Channa Reddy and Mr K Chiranjeevi, Mr Yerrannaidu said that Mr Jagan would also join the list soon. The fact that Jagan’s group MLAs have voted for the Congress supported MIM candidate was an indication of the imminent merger, he said, adding that people have already understood it.
The TDP senior leader has said that as part of match-fixing between the YSR Congress and Congress, Jagan group has supported the Congress candidates in Anantapur and Kurnool districts. Charging that Jagan was bargaining with Congress president, Ms Sonia Gandhi, on sharing of spoils in power and ill-gotten money, he said it was strange that he was criticizing the TDP. He said the YSR Congress has no principle except snatching the Chief Minister’s post by the hook or crook. It was sheer ignorance on the part of Mr Jagan to think that he could erase the TDP from the hearts of the people through the newspaper and TV channel he started using money he amassed by misusing the power of his father during his chief ministership, Mr Naidu has commented. He said that Mr Jagan has surpassed his father in purchasing votes. (NSS)
