Kadapa: The Chief Minister, Mr N. Kiran Kumar Reddy, has ridiculed the YSR Congress chief, Mr Y S Jagan Mohan Reddy, that all he was aspiring for is the Chief Minister’s post. He said that Mr Jagan should tell the people why he had launched his own party though the Congress High Command offered him Minister’s post at the Centre. He said that Mr Jagan left the party only to become the Chief Minister.

The Chief Minister was speaking at a public meeting at Prodduturu as part of his election campaigning in the district.

Comparing Mr Jagan to a horse with blinkers only to see the road and nothing else, he said that the former was able to see only the Chief Minister post and nothing else.

Admitting that late Chief Minister Dr Y S Rajasekhara Reddy had done a lot to develop the Kadapa district, the Chief Minister has not failed to note that it was because of the Congress party that YSR had grown politically. He said late Dr Rajasekhara Reddy told him several times that he had grown only because of the Congress party. Assuring that all the welfare schemes of YSR would be continued, he asserted that none of the schemes were stopped. He appealed to the Congress MLAs not to work against the party.

Jagan has no right to carry YSR photo in his flag. The Chief Minister said that while Jagan could carry the photo of YSR as his son, he has no right to carry his photograph in the party flag. Stating that everything displayed in the YSR Congress party flag belonged to the Congress party, the Chief Minister said Jagan’s party had no Janda (Flag) or agenda. He called upon the people of Kadapa to teach a befitting lesson to wayward Jagan.

Recalling that he has served the Congress party for 20 years without expecting any position, Mr Reddy said positions would follow hard work. Referring to Jagan’s statement that the government would fall in six months, he said the government was not running at Jagan’s mercy. He has challenged Mr Jagan to do what he could.

Referring to the Ceiling Fan symbol of Jagan’s party, the Chief Minister said even if a fan were to work, a hand (Congress symbol) has to switch it on. The Chief Minister has urged the people not to believe false promises. He told them that only Congress party was capable of implementing all the welfare schemes of late Chief Minister Dr Y S Rajasekhara Reddy. He has appealed to the people to elect Dr D L Ravindra Reddy, to the Kadapa Lok Sabha seat and Mr Y S Vivekananda Reddy to Pulivendula Assembly seat. He told the people that both of them should win with big majorities. (NSS)
