Hyderabad: Congress MLA Veerasiva Reddy, known to be a bitter critic of YSR Congress Party president YS Jaganmohan Reddy, on Friday alleged that Telugu Desam Party president N Chandrababu Naidu had been manipulated by the Kadapa MP-elect to introduce the No Confidence Motion against the N Kiran Kumar Reddy government.
Talking to media persons on Assembly premises, Mr Veerasiva Reddy wondered about the timing of the No Trust Vote, coming as it has done, on the back of the thumping victory of YSR Congress Party candidates in the recent by-elections.
The Congress MLA said that if Mr Naidu had really been aggrieved over the farmers’ issues, he would have introduced the No Confidence Motion during the Budget Session itself.
“Why has Mr Naidu decided to introduce the Motion on farmers’ issues when he had shown no real commitment towards farmers’ problems at any time? If he has genuine commitment towards farmers, Mr Naidu should have introduced No Confidence Motion against the government during the Budget session itself,” Mr Veerasiva Reddy pointed out.
He continued, “The fact is that Mr Naidu is introducing the No Trust Motion after being provoked by the statements of YSR Congress Party president YS Jaganmohan Reddy.”
Mr Veerasiva Reddy described Mr Jaganmohan Reddy as the scriptwriter, screenplay writer and director of the No Confidence Motion. “He is playing a major role from behind the screen,” the MLA charged.
The Congress leader exuded confidence that the government would defeat the No Trust Motion convincingly as it has the support of more than 180 MLAs.
Stating there was no threat to the government, he said “The government will give fitting reply to Mr Naidu’s No Confidence Motion.” (INN)
