Despite facing heat from the CBI probe, YSR Congress Party president and Kadapa MP Y S Jaganmohan Reddy has decided to go ahead with his 16-day Odarpu yatra in Krishna district from August 15. During his yatra, Jagan would console the bereaved families of those who had died of shock or committed suicide following the sudden death of YSR about two years ago.
Speaking to reporters here on Saturday, party central governing council member Bhumana Karunakara Reddy said that 60 persons committed suicide or died of shock in the district. He said that Jagan would meet all the families of those who lost their kin and console the bereaved family members. He said Jagan’s Odarpu yatra would strictly confine to consoling of bereaved families. He would cover 1,150 km in the district. He said that Jagan would unveil 160 statues of Y S Rajasekhara Reddy at various places in the district. The yatra would begin at Jaggaiahpet on August 15 and conclude in Vijayawada on August 31 with a public meeting by Jagan.
He said that though pressure was being exerted on Jagan from several leaders to visit their villages, he would visit only the bereaved families. TOI
