Hyderabad: The Rayalaseema senior Congress leader, Mr J C Diwakar Reddy, on Monday exuded confidence that the Congress candidate would emerge victorious in the Pulivendula Assembly constituency. He also demanded that the YSR Congress Party Chief, Mr Y S Jagan Mohan Reddy, reveal the secret of earning Rs 345 crores within two years.

Speaking to mediapersons at Congress Legislature Party office here, Mr Diwakar Reddy said that some time was needed to guess about outcome in Kadapa Lok Sabha constituency whether the Congress candidate would emerge a winner or not. He also said that sentiment would work in some way in the by-elections, but it will not be a deciding factor. Observing that there was nothing wrong in deploying ministers in the Kadapa by-election campaigning, he said that locals were important in any election and the ministers have to influence the local leaders to participate actively in the campaigning to get maximum benefit for the Congress candidates. “It was no problem to the ministers to work from Kadapa”, he added.

Asked about participation of the Chief Minister, Mr N Kiran Kumar Reddy, and the Praja Rajyam party president, Mr K Chiranjeevi, in the election campaigning in Kadapa by-elections, Mr Diwakar Reddy said sarcastically that both were top leaders and they would participate in the by-election campaigning.

Reacting to Mr Jagan’s affidavit, Mr Diwakar Reddy said that he was happy with Mr Jagan’s affidavit and said that Mr Jagan has to reveal the secret of minting so much money within two years.

Responding to a question on gang-rape of an Intermediate student in the heart of the city in broad daylight the other day, Mr Diwakar Reddy said that it was very bad and the people have to respond spontaneously on such heinous incidents as everything was not possible to the police to curb such incidents.
