Mahabubnagar: The MLA from Mahbubnagar district, Mr Jupalli Krishna Rao, who had tendered his resignation to cabinet post for the sake of separate Telangana State, would begin a padayatra from Sunday.
The former minister will be starting his padayatra from his home district in the name of “Telangana Praja Abhiyan” from Sunday for which the Telangana Intellectuals From announced its support. The Front also appealed to the people of Telangana to participate in the padayatra in large numbers and make it a grand success.
On his part, Mr Jupalli Krishna Rao also appealed to all the political leaders from Telangana to join the padayatra in order to open the eyes of the Congress high command about the inevitability of carving out separate Telangana State.
Talking to mediapersons, the former minister made it clear that he would go ahead with his padayatra irrespective of whether other leaders participate in the padayatra or not. He also made it clear that his padayatra would go on till the UPA government announced the formation of separate Telangana State. He also said that he would conduct himself as per the wish of the people of the region. (NSS)
