Civil Supplies Minister D. Sridhar Babu on Friday asserted that the Kiran Kumar Reddy government was not in minority as it has the required numerical strength in the Assembly.
The minister inspected the paddy purchase center in Husnabad Agriculture Market Committee Yard in Karimnagar district. He said that the government was taking all steps to ensure that the farmers did not face any problems in the purchase of paddy and cotton.
Speaking to the media, Sridhar Babu said that the Congress government which retained power in the last 2009 Assembly elections would be in office till 2014 and face the new elections. He also reiterated that the party high command has no intention to change the Chief Minister till the next elections.
Responding to the allegation that the Kiran Kumar Reddy government was orchestrating attacks on the agitating separate Telangana activists, Sridhar Babu refuted the charge saying that they need not resort to such illegal methods. He also said that the Telangana Congress leaders know how to achieve separate State. (NSS)
