Hyderabad: The Chief Minister, Mr N. Kiran Kumar Reddy, on Sunday came down heavily on the alleged comments of BJP spokesman and former Union minister, Mr Arun Jaitley. He was referring to the alleged comments of Mr Jaitley as published by Wiki leaks, that Hindu nationalism was now less resonant in India, but that could change with another cross-border terrorist attack.
In a statement here, the Chief Minister stated, “this clearly exposes the hidden agenda of the BJP and its lack of commitment to National Security. It only indicates that they want more and more cross border terrorist attacks in India so that their version of Hindutva prevails and their selfish interests are served.”
Referring to the comment of Mr Jaitley that Hindutva will always be a rallying point and opportunistic issue for the BJP, the Chief Minister said that it clearly exposed the hollowness of BJP’s philosophy and their commitment to Hindutva. They have been using the Hindutva Card to arouse emotions of the people and divide nation and thereby enhance their vote bank. This should be condemned by all patriotic and right thinking people, he said. (NSS)
