Deputy General Police (DGP) of Andhra Pradesh Mr. B. Prasada Rao said that the Naxalite threat would increase if the state was bifurcated.
Addressing in the ‘Meet the Press’ progarmme, organised by City Crime Reporters Community at Press Club here, Mr B. Prasada Rao said, ‘ The Naxalites problem will take a rise if bifurcation takes place.
The Naxalite activity was high in 1980s but it has now nosedived in the state while Chattishgarh, Jharkahand and Maharashtra have been witnessing spurt in Naxalite activities. ‘
But he was confident that the state police would be able to tackle the Naxalite problem effectively in future also.
