The Union minister of state for tourism, Mr K. Chiranjeevi, on Saturday virtually announced his retirement from films and said that it might not be possible for him to act anymore as he would be busy with his ministerial responsibilities besides playing a key role in Congress politics.

The actor-turned politician had earlier said that he would act in one more film, the 150th of his career.

In an informal interaction with the media he said that Mr Rahul Gandhi was firm about injecting young blood in the Congress and administration, which he hoped would lead to a good show by the party in the coming elections both at the Centre and the state level.

The Union minister added that he would abide by the party’s decision on Telangana or state leadership. DC
