One new welfare scheme in every two months: CM

Chittoor: The Chief Minister Mr. N. Kirankumar Reddy has announced that the government would come up with a new welfare scheme every two months.

Addressing a public meeting at Valmikipuram in Piler constituency on Saturday, he said his government was giving utmost importance to women. He said development would be possible only when women were given key positions and active role in governance. “Give the Almira Keys to women, so that you will be safe” he told the cheering crowd. The Chief Minister advised people to remove the social evil of dowry from the system. He said the government was also taking stringent measures to root out the evil. He told the parents also to avoid child marriages and educate girl children. He said by educating girl children, they would not only be ensuring that they were self-reliant, but also contribute a committed work force to the nation.

Referring to the problems faced by farmers, he said the government would be constructing 1000 more godowns to provide additional storage facility where the farmers could store their produce safely during the vagaries of nature. He said rice would be purchased from the farmers directly by the IKP.

Mr. Reddy has also announced that the government has released Rs. 2500 crores for developing basic infrastructure in government schools. He said it was the intention of the government to provide an environment conducive to the education of children.
