Hyderabad, April 16 : Demanding that the YSR Congress Party Chief, Mr Y S Jagan Mohan Reddy, give a clarification on his assets not mentioned in the affidavit submitted to the Election Commission, the PCC has said that the people were in shock as how it was possible to earn so much within a short period.
Speaking to the media at Gandhi Bhavan here on Saturday, the PCC official spokesperson, Dr M. Thulasi Reddy, said that Mr Jagan has shown his assets worth Rs 407 crores and questioned as to why he has failed to mention in his affidavit about Jagathi Publications, Indira Channel, a building in Banjara Hills and a building in Benguluru. “Mr Jagan has to clarify whether the assets, which are not mentioned in the affidavit are benami or not”.
Dr Thulasi Reddy said that even dacoits were surprised as how it was possible to earn that much of assets within a short period. He said that the people would show “Srikrishna Thulabaram” to Mr Jagan on May 13. He said that Mr Jagan would taste the defeat like Sathyabama, who had tasted the defeat at the hands of poor Rukmini in the Mahabharatham, in the Kadapa by-elections.
Condemning the attack on the office of the Union Minister, Mr Sai Prathap, at Kadapa, Dr Thulasi Reddy demanded that the government arrest the culprits immediately. The people in Kadapa were scared after the attack on Mr Sai Prathap’s office and were asking about the fate of the common man in future. He said that the people were suspecting the complicity of Mr Jagan’s loyalists in the attack. He said that the attack was planned to scare away Mr Sai Prathap who was coming to participate in the filing of nominations by the Congress candidates, Dr D L Ravindra Reddy and Mr Y S Vivekananda Reddy.
The official spokespersons, Mr Gandra Venkataramana Reddy, Mr Rudraraju Padmaraju, Mr Masthan Vali and Ms Padmaja Reddy also participated.
Speaking to the media at CLP office, the AICC secretary and MLC, Mr Ponguleti Sudhakar Reddy, appealed to the Election Commission to initiate steps to curb the flow of money in the by-elections. Asking Mr Jagan to clarify the doubts over his affidavit submitted to the Election Commission, Mr Ponguleti appealed to the Kadapa voters to ensure victory of the Congress candidates, Dr D L Ravindra Reddy and Mr Y S Vivekananda Reddy.
Mr Ponguleti also appealed to the State government and the Chief Minister, Mr N Kiran Kumar Reddy, to set up a ‘Group of Ministers’ to monitor Sathya Sai Baba’s health condition, assets and trusts services every day to stop the criticism coming against the Trust members immediately.
Mr Ponguleti thanked the Chief Minister for directing the ministers to examine the G.O. No.177 in the Cabinet meeting held on Saturday. (NSS)
