Hyderabad, Feb 22: The Social Welfare Minister, Mr. Pitani Satyanarayana, has said that the government would abide by the instructions of the Supreme Court with regard to fee reimbursement.
Speaking at the media point on the Assembly premises on Tuesday, the minister urged the former MP, Mr Y S Jagan Mohan Reddy, to withdraw his hunger strike on the issue. Stating that the government seized the matter and would do justice to students, he urged Mr Jagan to withdraw his strike. He also assured the fasting leader that the government would not do injustice to the students.
Referring to the reported threat of the engineering colleges’ managements that they would close down, he said that they have no right to close the colleges. He warned that the State government would take stern action if the managements caused inconvenience to the students. The minister also assured that all pending fee arrears would be cleared within 15 days. He called upon the managements of engineering colleges to withdraw their decision to close their institutions.
