Police provide protection to Satyajit

Puttaparti: Police have provided protection to Satya Sai Baba’s disciple and a key member in the Satya Sai Trust, in view of Intelligence reports that he faced threat to his life.

Mr Satyajit, who hails from Tamilnadu came to Puttaparti as a five year old child and had been under the care of Bhagwan Satya Sai Baba ever since. He has become the closest of disciples of late Baba.

Media carried out several reports making allegations against Mr Satyajit after Baba was hospitalized. One of the main allegations against him was that he had not given proper food to Baba and had administered harmful drugs, including sleeping pills to him. It was said that Satyajit was mainly responsible for the deterioration of Baba’s health. Satyajit is not only an important member of the Trust, but also holds cheque signing powers. It was in this context that police have provided security to him.


Police have announced that the time for Baba’s darshan was extended till 2000 hrs on Tuesday. The IG of Rayalaseema, Mr Santosh Mehra, has said that the time was extended in view of the heavy influx of devotees. It was earlier announced that the Darshan would be stopped at 1800 hrs on Tuesday as they have to make arrangements for the Samadhi of Baba in the Sai Kulwant Hall. Baba’s body was placed in state in the Sai Kulwant Hall from where he has given darshan and his messages all these years. The Trust proposes to turn the building into Sai Baba’s Samadhi. (NSS)
