Kadapa: The senior Congress leader and former chief minister, Mr K. Rosaiah, has called upon the people of Kadapa district to exercise their franchise in favour of the Congress candidates in the Kadapa Lok Sabha and Pulivendula Assembly by-elections for achieving the ideals of late chief minister Y S Rajasekhara Reddy.
Mr Rosaiah arrived here this morning as part of his election campaigning in Kadapa.
Speaking to mediapersons immediately after arrival, Mr Rosaiah said that that all the welfare and developmental schemes introduced by late chief minister Y S Rajasekhara Reddy would be implemented definitely. He also added that political heredity of late YSR belongs to the Congress party alone.
Stating that the electorate has to weigh the qualities of the candidates in the election fray, Mr Rosaiah appealed to the voters to view the Congress party in a special angle and vote for the Congress nominees to strengthen the Congress-led UPA government at the Centre. He also pointed out that the Congress party and its leaders had sacrificed everything for the country.
The former chief minister also asked the people of Kadapa as how could they expect continuance of welfare schemes and developmental projects if they voted for the non-Congress candidates. (NSS)
