Hyderabad: Samaikhya Andhra Students Joint Action Committee convener Kishore on Monday demanded that the state government conduct the State Level Eligibility Test (SLET) for recruitment of lecturers through Andhra Pradesh Public Service Commission and not to entrust the responsibility on any one University.

Talking to media persons here, Kishore said the conduct of SLET through any University in one region would raise doubts among students community as they are divided on statehood issue.

He appealed to the state government to hand over the responsibility of conducting the lecturers’ recruitment exams to the APPSC to remove any doubts which might crop up among the student community.

The government had earlier dissolved the College Service Commission (CSC) of AP, which was responsible for conducting the SLET.

It was widely speculated that the Osmania University would be given charge of conducting the tests.

The SASJAC leader also demanded that the government go ahead with recruitment tests for police Sub-Inspectors posts as per schedule of August 13, without waiting for deletion of Clause 14 F from the Presidential Orders as they were no posts vacant in the Hyderabad region.

Kishore also slammed senior Telangana leader and freedom fighter Konda Laxman Bapuji for establishing another Joint Action committee for achieving the separate Telangana state.

“If Konda Laxman Bapuji launches a fight against corruption on the lines of civil activist Anna Hazare, the student leaders would extend their support to him,” the Seemandhra students’ leader said. (INN)
