Kadapa: The Samaikyandhra Students Joint Action Committee activists here on Wednesday waylaid the vehicle of the YSR Congress Party MLA from Pulivendula, Ms Y S Vijayalakshmi and demanded her to resign from her Assembly seat in support of United Andhra Pradesh. However, several leaders, who were accompanying their party supremo and Kadapa MP, Mr Jagan Mohan Reddy, reprimanded the protestors and scared them away.
Ms Vijayamma, wife of former chief minister late Y S Rajasekhara Reddy, was proceeding to attend the Kadapa district Review meeting. The Seemandhra JAC activists demanded her to resign from her seat in support of unified State like her Telangana counterparts who have resigned recently for the cause of separate Telangana State. They also squatted before the meeting hall and raised slogans in support of united State. At one stage, the protestors tried to barge into the meeting hall.
