Hyderabad: Mr. Aravinda Rao, Director General of Police has said that the condition of Satya Sai Baba was stable.
In a press release here, the DGP said he has appointed Charu Sinha, Deputy Inspector General of Police to specially monitor the health condition of Baba who has been admitted to the Sai Baba Super Specialty Hospital, Anantnapur, following illness. He said he had also asked the Satya Sai Trust members to inform about the condition of Baba at regular intervals.
Meanwhile, Dr. Safaya, director of the Satya Sai Super Specialties Hospital has also told the media at Anantapur, that the condition of the Baba was stable and clarified that there was no need for any anxiety. He said Baba was going to be discharged after the Ugadi festival. The Trust has released a bulletin at 1230 hrs on Saturday, stating that his condition was stable.
Some TV channels have telecast reports that the Baba was no more and millions of his devotees all over the world, made anxious calls to the police department and the Baba’s hospital and Ashram in Anantapur. Several thousands of devotees have reached Puttaparti in Anantapur district, where the Baba has his Ashram.
In Hyderabad, hundreds of Baba’s devotees including several women gathered at the Baba’s Shivam complex and offered prayers there. Some women were seen profusely weeping. A spokesman of the Satya Sai Trust while stating that there was no cause for anxiety, urged the channels not to telecast roumors on the man who was God to millions of people all over the world. He said it was a case of human sentiments and asked the media not to play with them for the sake of up-man-ship in news coverage and competition with other channels.
Some Channels said that Charu Sinha has suddenly left from a meeting called by the DGP at Puttaparti and said this indicated that the Baba’s condition was deteriorating. (NSS)
