Hyderabad: The School Education Minister and Seemandhra MLAs and MLCs forum Convener Dr S Shailajanath has opined that there was nothing new in the statement of the Union Home Minister Mr P Chidambaram that Telangana cannot be formed over night. He made it clear that the Seemandhra Congress MLAs will not boycott the on- going Assembly session.

Speaking to the media at CLP office premises here on Wednesday, Dr Shailajanath said that Mr Chidambaram’s statement yesterday was a usual one, and exuded confidence that his announcement would help the future of the State. He said that the Centre was trying for consensus on Telangana issue and was trying to talk across the table with all the political parties. He said that they have the right in a democratic country to organize a meeting and will organize the meeting on March 5. There was nothing wrong in boycotting the Assembly by the Telagnana MLAs, because they have the right to do so, he said and added that the Seemandhra leaders would try to run the Assembly effectively to solve the problems of the backward areas of the State.
