Nalgonda: Alleging that the Seemandhra leaders were snowballing the toppling of the statues on Tank Bund on Million March day, the TRS Chief, Mr K Chandrasekhara Rao, has said that they were speaking cheaply dubbing the Telangana agitators as Talibans. He said that the Tank Bund incident had occurred due to the curbs imposed by the State government. He said that there were no leaders to direct the activists on that day and that led to the destruction of the statues in a fit of rage.

Speaking to the media here on Monday, Mr Chandrasekhara Rao said that he would strive for the development of socially backward classes similar to Tamil Nadu. Accusing the Congress party of giving publicity on merging issue, he said that the TRS will not be merged with the Congress party and added that the people will drown the Congress in Bay of Bengal if it failed to concede Telangana.

Calling upon the Telangana people to remain united to achieve Telangana, he demanded that the Chief Minister, Mr N Kiran Kumar Reddy, to reopen the 400 toddy shops which were closed in Hyderabad if he was sincere. He criticized the government alleging that the government closed the toddy shops to disturb the profession of the toddy shop owners. (NSS)
