Guntur: Close on the heels of Seemandhra Congress leaders organising a conference to keep the state united, the Seemandhra TDP leaders organised a round-table conference in Guntur.
Telugu Desam senior leader from Seemandhra region Erram Naidu on Wednesday demanded that the United Progressive Government (UPA) make a statement in the parliament about keeping the state `united’.
Addressing the round-table conference at Siddartha Gardens, Erram Naidu said that the round-table conference has unanimously passed a resolution opposing the division of state and urged for keeping the state `united’.
Reiterating that the development of state is possible with keeping the state integrated, Erram Naidu stated the Centre has to adopt the sixth recommendation of Justice B N Srikrishna Committee report and keep the state united for the overall progress of state on all fronts.
Describing the demand for division of the state as conspiracy of Telangana Rashtra Samiti and the Congress, Erram Naidu said the TDP has already made its stand clear and there was no need to make any resolution on it.
He said the Seemandhra leaders are ready to sacrifice anything for the cause of united Andhra Pradesh.
He called upon all the Seemandhra leaders to be united and launch agitation for keeping the state integrated.
The round-table conference was aimed to chalk out future course of action. Leaders from 14 districts attended the round-table conference.
TDP Floor leader Ashok Gajapathi Raju, Payyavula Kesav, Yanamala Ramakrishnudu and others attended the round-table conference.(INN)
