Seized money belonged to Satya Sai Baba Trust: Police

Anantapur: The Penukonda DSP, Mr Kolaru Krishna, has said that the police had evidence to prove that the money caught at the Kodikonda Checkpost belonged to the Satya Sai Trust.

Talking to the media here on Monday, the DSP said that one person played a key role in shifting the money from the Satya Sai Trust.

It may be recalled that the Satya Sai Trust member, Mr Ratnakar had said that the money did not belong to the Trust and instead it belonged to 12 devotees of Satya Sai Baba. He said those devotees have approached the police with proofs of their ownership for getting the money back.

The DSP however said no one has approached the police as claimed by the Trust members.

One Harish Nanda who was driving the vehicle from which Rs. 55 lakhs was seized by the police at the Kodikonda checkpost is stated to be the Trust’s driver.
