Hyderabad: The Palamuru University Students Joint Action Committee, Telangana State Teachers’ Association and Telangana Dalit Bahujanula Ikya Vedika will be conducting a seminar on “Partition of Andhra Pradesh” on July 20 from 10 am to 5 pm at Seminar Hall, Palamuru University, Mahbubnagar.
Releasing a poster relating to the seminar here on Sunday, the Samajika Telangana, Andhra Mahasabha Co-ordinating Committee convener, Mr U. Sambasivarao, said the people of Seemandhra region were favouring separate Telangana State. He alleged that some Seemandhra capitalists were only opposing Telangana State due to their personal interests. He also said that the Seemandhra agitation was a sponsored movement only. Stating that there was no need for special packages and councils to address Telangana issue, he demanded that the Union government begin the process of carving out separate Telangana State as declared by the Union Home Minister, Mr P. Chidambaram, on December 9, 2009.
The seminar coordinator, Mr S.A. Shyam Kumar, said they would conduct seminars to create awareness on “Partition of Andhra Pradesh” among the people in all the district headquarters in the State. The seminar was aimed at creating awareness on myths and doubts on partition of the State, he said and demanded that the Union government declare two States of Telugu speaking people.
The Dalit Sena State president, Mr J. B. Raju, the B.C Mahasabha State president, Mr U. Sambasivarao, the 1969 Telangana movement association convener, Mr M. Kishan Rao, the Andhra Joint Action Committee convener, Mr S. Krishnamurthy, the Telangana Democratic Front convener, Ms Vijaya Laxmi, the Samajika Andhra Mahasabha Convener, Mr Sudhakar and Palamuru University JAC leader, Mr Amarnath Yadav were also present.
