Hyderabad: Lambasting the former MP Mr YS Jagan Mohan Reddy on his stand in regard to Kakarapally East Coast Thermal Power Project, the Handloom and Textiles Minister Dr P Shankar Rao has asked the former to demand the State Government for a judicial inquiry on the issue.
Speaking to the media here on Tuesday, Dr Shankar Rao said that the inquiry should reveal the truth as to who was there behind the proposed project and who were the real owners and who were the ‘benamies’.
Questioning Mr Jagan as to why he failed to concentrate on this project when he toured the district in the name of ‘Odarpu Yatra’ few months ego, Dr Shankar Rao said that the GOs allotting the land to the Somepeta Power Project and East Coast Thermal Power Project, were issued when the late YSR was the Chief Minister of the State. He said that the then State government has allotted 900 acres to the Sompeta Power Project and 1100 acres of land to the East Coast Thermal Power Project. He said that the persons, who have committed this mistake, would come out if the government conducts an inquiry. He recalled that the people organized agitations during YSR’s rule against both the projects. (NSS)
