Sharmila Enters Telangana Despite TRS Threat

Despite threats by the TRS, large crowds greeted Sharmila when she entered Telangana region at Mahbubnagar, completing her padayatra inKurnool district. Large number of people gathered right from the morning at the entry point in the district when Sharmila crossed the Tungabhadra bridge and entered Mahbubnagar.

Sharmila, who completed 625 km inKurnooldistrict would walk for 225 km in Mahbubnagar, in seven constituencies. She was accompanied by Jitta Bala Krishna Reddy, former TRS youth wing chief, Yadma Krishna Reddy of Mahbubnagar and former Congress MLA Swarna Sudhakar. Swarna Sudhakar is joining YSR Congress in the presence of Sharmila.

Soon after entering Mahbubnagar district, Sharmila reached Pulluru village. There was no opposition to her entry. Heavy security was arranged for her in view of the threats by TRS. Party workers came from not only Mahbubnagar, but alsoHyderabad, Nalgonda andKurnooldistricts to stand by Sharmila.

Sharmila’s entry into Mahbubnagar was delayed. Though she was to cover 11 km in the district on the first day, it was shortened. She would stay for the night in Penabhotla village. (NSS)
