Kadapa: The YSR Congress leader and former actress, Ms Roja, has charged the AICC president, Ms Sonia Gandhi with playing “mean” politics.

Speaking to mediapersons here on Saturday, Ms Roja said that Ms Sonia Gandhi had banished her co-sister-in-law, Ms Maneka Gandhi (wife of late Sanjay Gandhi) from home for the sake of grabbing family property.

The former Telugu heroine has alleged that Ms Sonia Gandhi also played “mean politics” by joining hands with the party which was facing the charge of having her husband (Rajiv Gandhi) killed. She said that only Ms Sonia Gandhi deserves the credit for giving cabinet post to Mr S Jaipal Reddy, who had demanded that late Rajiv Gandhi be hanged when he was in the Opposition.

Referring to the hectic efforts by the Chief Minister, Mr N. Kiran Kumar Reddy, for winning Kadapa by-elections, she questioned what could a person, who could not get a single MLC get elected in his home district, do in Kadapa. She said that the Chief Minister has herded his cabinet colleagues in Kadapa to save his own post.

Praising the YSR Congress chief Mr Jagan Mohan Reddy, she said that he is one leader who never turned back or went back on his word. (NSS)
