Hyderabad: The State Cabinet, which met here today, has decided to amend the Andhra Pradesh Lok Ayuktha Act, to bring all the State Government employees, as also the elected representatives of the local bodies from panchayat to Municipal Corporations and those in the Cooperative institutions, under it’s purview.
The Act, at present, excludes Government officials whose pay scale was Rs.7,400 and below. The proposed amendment would do away with this. Also, it was proposed to punish those who lodged false complaints under the Act.
